Anyōkai

Anyōkai is a series of drawings published between 2018 and 2022 in ANYTIME, a periodical zine about Anime Culture. The drawings are interpretations on traditional japanese "Yōkai". The term is not directly translatable, it it includes spirits, demons, monsters, animals, plants and objects with magical abilities, strange apparitions and just about anything supernatural and rationally elusive. The starting point of the series was the attempt to discover at least one Yōkai in every anime discussed in the zine and to graphically translate my research about them.
