"Phases of Fusion" explores the entry into new galaxies of the Cosmoscolonization era. It's a journey of exploration undertaken by spacefarers through the remnants of prenatal space travel. These beings, neither transhumanists nor AI machines, aspire to new evolutionary worlds. As dreaming subjects, they embody communication, love, care, hate, envy, solidarity, and greed; they are hedonistic altruists and yet trained neoliberal thinkers with a sense of individual justice.
Despite their aspirations, they falter amidst the ruins of their prenatal space ventures. The black holes and myriad asteroids and light years that delineate their boundaries are not seen as barriers but rather spark interest in the underlying power structures. The odyssey of the spacefarers is accompanied by sweet resources, while a longing for fusion and a fascination with power structures drive their quest for new galaxies.

About the artist Patrik Werner Muchenberger

Patrik Werner Muchenberger, born in 1979, graduated from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Switzerland and the University of Applied Arts Vienna in Austria. Since 2017 he is an active member of the artist collective Pengpengduo.

His artistic focus is on exploring social, socio-political and cultural issues. Muchenberger transforms his precise observations into large-scale abstract paintings, which are characterized by a special artistic identity.
