The source material for this painting came from looking up at the sky through buildings in New York. I like how the negative space between the buildings looked almost like the shape of a plane or bird.

About the artist Katherine Lubar

Originally from Dallas, Texas and based in London, Katherine Lubar received a Post-Graduate Diploma from The City & Guilds of London Art School. She has exhibited in the UK and the US and her work is in the collection of The Museum of Geometric and MADI Art in Dallas. She was a finalist for the Evening Standard Contemporary Painting Prize in 2017 and shortlisted for the Wells Art Contemporary in 2018 and 2019. In 2020 she received a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
